Announced: The Opening and Closing Galas for the 34th Raindance Film Festival

The 34th Raindance Film Festival has just announced its star-studded Opening and Closing Galas, set to take place from 17th to 26th June 2026, celebrating independent cinema.

1. Opening Gala Premieres

The festival opens with the UK Premiere of Michel K. Parandi's debut feature, a high-octane near-future thriller starring Connor Storrie and Lilly Krug. The Opening Gala will also feature an exclusive festival screening of an animated short film by the Gorillaz.

2. Closing Gala Premiere

The festival closes with the European Premiere of the first official biography of rock & roll icon Eddie Cochran. Eddie Cochran will receive a posthumous Raindance Icon Award during this event.

Programme Highlights

Further programme highlights will be revealed at the Raindance's Villa Party in Cannes on 17 May, followed by the full programme announcement on 18 May. Festival-goers can expect a diverse range of independent films from emerging filmmakers.
